The Ford Flex bowed in Southern California this Saturday with an unusual, interactive launch: Organizers prepared an eight-team celebrity scavenger hunt around Los Angeles. The Ford Flex rally allowed celebrity teams to put the new 2009 vehicle and its interactive technologies—like voice-activated navigation and Bluetooth—to the test.
The event featured a host of TV, film, and music personalities including Greg Grunberg, Hayden Panettiere, Oliver Hudson, James Denton, Bonnie Somerville, and Jamie Kennedy. Each rode in a Flex and tried to answer a series of clues that would give them directions to the next venue. The rally showcased L.A. spots like Katsuya Hollywood and the Pacific Design Center. It started and finished at the Edison, where an after-party also took place featuring performances by the Band From TV (a celebrity ensemble that raises money for charity) and the Raveonettes. Treehouse conceived and produced the stunt, and Rogers & Cowan handled PR.
