Now in its second year, the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo took over McCormick Place from Friday through Sunday. According to organizers from ReedPop, a major objective of this year's show was to broaden the range of participating talent.
So, along with appearances from comic book artists, creators and writers, this year's programming included a Q&A with actors from the HBO show True Blood and a panel discussion with chef Rick Bayless.
Called "A Taste of Comics," the panel focused on the connections between food and comics. And what is that connection? "Cooking is creativity," said a press release for the convention. "Food is art. A chef's knife is the equivalent of an artist's pencil or brush." C.B. Cebulski, a writer and talent scout for Marvel, sat on the panel with Bayless.
