TAKING BIDS: Today the Democratic National Convention Committee begins seeking bids for exhibition services for the September 2012 event at the Time Warner Cable Arena and the Charlotte Convention Center. 2. SHEEN ROAST BREAKS RECORDS: Just as Ashton Kutcher was making his debut on "Two and a Half Men," Comedy Central's roast of Charlie Sheen was drawing in a record number of viewers. Sheen was the channel's highest-rated roastee, with 6.4 million people tuning in Monday night. Still, Sheen's former sitcom attracted 28 million viewers. Entertainment Weekly:

3. RED BULL IN LONDON EYE: The energy drink brand will take over all 30 of the London Eye's capsules for a music event October 13. U.K.-based Event magazine: “Revolutions in Sound will see each capsule become an individual gig space, showcasing some of the capital’s best homegrown talent…The base of the visitor attraction will be turned into a Silent Disco with guests being able listen via headphones to feeds from the capsules and performances on ground level.”

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Worldwide will partner with filmmaker James Cameron and Fox Filmed Entertainment to bring the world of “Avatar” to life at Disney parks. NEW YORK: When Madison Square Garden opens its five new concession stands in October after a 20-month-long $850 million renovation, expect much more than a hot dog and a soda.
