The party for the release of Scarface on Blu-Ray at the Belasco Theater got a look any super fan—or even casual fan—of the film would remember. The Miami mansion belonging to Tony Montana, the film's central character, inspired the look and feel of the event, which included a cocktail party, a panel discussion with the original cast, including Al Pacino, and a live performance by Ludacris. "His mansion was very opulent, and it's one of the reasons we selected the Belasco, because it already had that built-in opulent look," said Dan Kough, president of event marketing for Paradigm Shift Worldwide Event Marketing & Production, brought on to produce the event by Universal Studios Home Entertainment's Jennifer Yarrish and Michelle Slavich. "We tried to create the look of his house, including that famous scene in which he's at the top of the staircase, saying, 'Say hello to my little friend.'" To achieve the look, the group brought in neoclassical statues from Green Set and placed them on the staircases and balcony landings flanking the stage. Border Grill handled the catering, Classic the additional rentals, and production assistance came from the Belasco's director of special events, Preston Gaspar.
