* INCOMING *

1. CHEVY'S SUPER BOWL APP: The car brand launched a new app Sunday where viewers can get prizes during the game by correctly answering trivia and poll questions about the Super Bowl, teams, and commercials. Users can win prizes from Chevrolet, Bridgestone Motorola, the NFL and NFLshop.com, Papa John's Pizza, and Sirius XM Radio. Ad Age: "Chevy's Super Bowl app also reflects marketers' desire to get the most out of the average $3.5 million that advertisers are paying for Super Bowl ad packages. Advertisers in the game are increasingly trying to wring extra value from digital and social channels."

4. MEDICAL MEETINGS: Cvent responds to a New York Times report that the Obama administration will seek disclosure of gifts and payments to doctors by pharmaceutical manufacturers. "According to Convene magazine's 2012 Meetings Industry Forecast, medical meetings account for all but two of the U.S. Top 25 Largest Meetings, as well make up 18.1% of the Top 10 Subjects for International Meetings. As the industry recovers from a sluggish economy and still smarts from 2008's AIG effect, will the new requirement adversely affect the lucrative medical meetings market?"

5. CHINA'S AD BAN: At its version of the Super Bowl, the Spring Festival Gala, China banned product placements. The event had 800 million viewers who tuned in to almost five hours of live programming Sunday during Lunar New Year's Eve. Ad Age: "The product-placement ban comes as China is implementing new rules restricting TV advertising. Inventory has been slashed, which has caused prices to climb by as much as 80% and has driven marketers to other media, including digital."
