Get a group out of the office and interacting at these three cooking spaces.
1. Eataly’s cooking school, La Scuola, opened in last September and offers private classes for groups of as many as 20. For example, Eataly’s wine director can lead groups in a wine tasting with seasonal food pairings. Attendees leave with menus, wine tasting notes, and adapted recipes.
2. Opened in 2010 and rebranded in December, FoodPop Studios is culinary demo and tasting space with a dedicated room for presentations and food and wine pairings. Adjacent to a commercial kitchen studio and a raw space, this venue is decorated with a wall of wine and furnished with two 50-inch LCD TVs. The tasting room seats 32 or can be combined with one of the studios to hold 80 for receptions.
3. In January, specialty food shop, cooking school, and event space Haven’s Kitchen will open in Chelsea, offering a site for private functions and classes. On two floors of a carriage house, the facility will have an open kitchen with rooms for 24-person demonstrations, a 40-seat dining room, and a 10-seat living room.
