The Chicago Symphony Orchestra's "Remix" fund-raiser, now in its second year, targets a core audience of young philanthropists and took place at Architectural Artifacts on Friday night. Starting at 9 p.m., the event had a late-night vibe replete with two DJs, a dance floor shot through with patterned lights, and drinks flowing from an open bar.

Entertaining Company's menu of small plates, both passed and presented at stations, stuck with the youthful, nighttime vibe. Guests could choose between sweet and savory items at the same time, including Shepherd's pie with mini serving of Guinness, peanut-butter-and-jelly cupcakes, chicken and waffles, and bite-size banana splits. An item that drew a few double-takes—it appeared to be savory but was actually sweet—was the brownie burger. Served with shortbread sliced to look like French fries and strawberry sauce that resembled ketchup, the snack had the deceptive look of a typical slider.
