In Case You Missed It
Award season is in full swing! This week, we spoke with the Recording Academy's longtime event head, Branden Chapman, who shared exclusive details about this year's Grammy Awards after-party. We also took a look inside the SAG Awards' Cuba-theme gala, designed by Event Eleven.

In non-award show news, we checked out Benefit Cosmetics' pretty-in-pink pop-up on Melrose Avenue.

In the News
A tweeted list that allegedly revealed some of the winners for the upcoming Grammys is fake, according to the Recording Academy. Billboard: "‘There is no legitimacy to this,’ a Recording Academy spokesperson tells Billboard. ‘Grammy Awards results are not shared, even with Recording Academy staff members, until the day of the Grammy Awards ceremony, when names of the recipients are delivered by [accounting firm] Deloitte in sealed envelopes.’” https://bit.ly/2BcqMP0

A memorial was held on Monday for Alan Canter, the owner of the famed Canter's Deli who passed away last week. Los Angeles Times: "Canter’s father, Ben, along with his uncles, opened the original deli in 1931 in Boyle Heights. By 1953, Canter’s had moved into its present home, the old Esquire theater building at 419 North Fairfax, and become a 24-hour restaurant—one of the first in the city. Its cocktail lounge, the Kibitz Room, became a late-night post-concert watering hole for the likes of Jim Morrison, Courtney Love, and Jakob Dylan, Bob Dylan’s son." https://lat.ms/2DJsGbB

Chef Adam Perry Lang was arrested in Hermosa Beach last weekend. Eater: "Lang’s lawyer says the incident could be a case of swatting (someone calling in a prank threat, often to the house of a celebrity)... The APL chef is currently out on $50,000 bail, paid by [Jimmy] Kimmel, and his lawyer says he 'will be cleared of any wrongdoing' shortly." https://bit.ly/2SdvZQC
