1. A Capitol Fourth

Actor and producer John Stamos, aka Uncle Jessie on Full House, returned in 2019 to host the annual July Fourth festivities. Musical stars such as the iconic Carole King, violinist Lindsey Stirling, and Keala Settle of The Greatest Showman) took to the West Lawn of the United States Capitol building to perform a concert honoring our troops. 2. National Memorial Day Concert

Held on the last Sunday in May every year since 1989, the concert brings a star-studded lineup to the Capitol Building to honor our men and women in uniform. In 2019, performers such as pop musician Gavin DeGraw and legendary singer Patti LaBelle serenaded attendees at the 30th edition of what has become one of PBS’ highest-rated programs. 3. National Christmas Tree Lighting

Country music sweetheart Jessie James Decker was the headliner in 2019, and performed alongside other artists for attendees huddled at the Ellipse in President's Park in front of the White House to witness the annual lighting of the nation’s tree. Those hoping to catch a glimpse of the tree can do so until January 1, 2020. The annual event is free to the public, but requires tickets made available through a lottery. Next: December 2020

4. White House Easter Egg Roll

First lady Melania Trump hosted the 141st annual Easter festivities in April, when about 30,000 guests, mostly children, descended upon the South Lawn of the White House. The tradition, held annually, officially dates back to 1878, when Rutherford B. Hayes sat in the Oval Office. While the event is free, tickets are required and are awarded through a lottery.
