For eco-friendly flowers, turn to Succulent, a new floral design firm that offers consumers an alternative to traditional cut blooms. The company uses locally grown varieties of pesticide-free succulents—hardy plants that require minimal care or water to survive—and roots arrangements in organic soil so they can be reused. Clients may purchase or rent arrangements, potted in anything from mirrored boxes or driftwood to ceramics in the color of their choice, and select from thousands of eye-catching succulents, such as the anacampseros, with its pink and purple buds, or the aeonium, which sprouts geometric rosettes.
