Green Events Source to Host Eco-Educational Party for Planners

Green Events Source, a local eco-friendly event-planning consultancy, is hosting the first "Greener Events Chicago," a free educational and networking function for corporate event planners, tomorrow evening at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. Running from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., the evening will consist of a cocktail reception catered by Greg Christian Catering, a local company known for its commitment to organic and locally sourced menus. About 150 meeting planners and vendors are slated to attend.Christian will join Green Events Source founder Deb Popely, McDonald's Corporation meetings and events project manager Julie Larson, and a spokesperson from the Nature Museum for a one-hour educational session on hosting green events, including selecting eco-friendly venues.

Also represented at the event are True Cuisine Catering, which will provide a dessert table, entertainment resource Ally Entertainment, and event-planning company the Event Gallery. All attendees will receive a gift bag courtesy of Proforma Quality Business Services filled with vendor information and a copy of The Green Events Source Book, a multimedia resource guide for greener meetings and events.
