SAG AWARDS RECAP: At the Screen Actors Guild awards, Martin Scorsese unintentionally provided the night’s comic relief as the focus of a drinking game proposed by the stars of “Bridesmaids.” E Online: “The ‘Bridesmaids’ trifecta of Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, and Maya Rudolph showed up and delivered some director-based drinking comedy involving Martin Scorsese, which pretty much killed.”

3. PEPSI RENEWS STRATEGY: The world's largest snack-food maker is planning to increase its marketing budget, by as much as $600 million, in order to take back market share from Coca-Cola. Business Week: "To help pay for a boost in marketing and advertising spending, Nooyi may have to cut costs elsewhere, said Dave Novosel, a food and beverage analyst at Gimme Credit in New York. PepsiCo may fire several thousand employees this year, a person familiar with the plans said earlier this month."

BALTIMORE: John Fisher has joined Fandango Productions as executive producer. Previously, Fisher was Showcall USA’s director of event operations.
BOSTON: Towne Stove & Spirits will host a Super Bowl party February 5. The game will show on 60-inch TVs, there will be a raffle on a jersey signed by Tom Brady, and specials include a punch cocktail and bourbon-glazed chicken wings.

ORLANDO: A group of Tampa-area event professionals came together for the second year in a row to produce Calendar for a Cause, a calendar featuring photos of pediatric cancer patients and survivors. The group will unveil the calendar at a gala Wednesday night at the Tampa Yacht & Country Club. Proceeds from the calendar and the event benefit the Children's Cancer Center in Tampa. Committee members include Georgia Watson Events, RSBP Events, One Fine Day, Botanica Design Studio, Aaron Lockwood Photography, and Ryan Joseph Photography.
The Orlando Sentinel talks to merchants near the Amway Center who are upset about the N.B.A.'s plans to erect an eight-foot, opaque fence in front of their businesses for the All-Star Game. The restaurant and store owners say they want $3.5 million in compensation from the city and the league.

PHILADELPHIA: Starting today, the Four Seasons Hotel will uncap the first beer in its "a Beer Four All Seasons" series. Partnering with the Dock Street Brewing Company, the property’s chefs and sommelier created a special Truffled Old Ale.
SONOMA COUNTY: The Sonoma State University's Donald and Maureen Green Music Center will officially open September 29. The main auditorium, Weill Concert Hall, will seat 1,400 and additional seating outdoors will be available by opening a modular rear wall.
TORONTO: Pride Toronto changed the dates of World Pride 2014, which was originally scheduled for July 11-20. World Pride will now run June 20-29, 2014 to avoid conflict with the Lion's Club International conference. There was a concern that there would not be enough hotel rooms to accommodate both events.
