How 18,000 Balls Boosted an Event's Social Media Exposure

At Tumblr's recent celebration, the event's hashtag was placed directly above a tough-to-resist photo opportunity.

On December 10, Tumblr hosted its "Year In Review" bash at New York's Brooklyn Night Bazaar. Produced by NVE: The Experience Agency, the event was aimed at bringing the Tumblr screen to life; as such, content projected around the venue featured some 3,200 GIFs and images selected from the online platform. There was also an opportunity to create new images in a 10- by 10-foot ball pit that producers installed in front of a wall bearing the event's hashtag. Guests jumped into—and posed for photos in—the nostalgic activation, which was filled with 18,000 multicolored balls.
