BizBash's sixth annual Event Style Awards was held on Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at the Nokia Theatre Times Square in New York City. Hosted by Fox 5's Good Day New York co-anchors Jodi Applegate and Ron Corning, this show drew more than 700 event industry organizers, planners, and vendors who came out to discover who won top honors in 18 categories and to induct Maureen Reidy, president and C.E.O. of NYC Big Events Inc., into the BizBash Hall of Fame.
The awards show, produced by Overland Entertainment, was viewed on a screen that hung center stage and was flanked by blue plexi glass panels. These screens, courtesy of Scharff Weisberg Inc., hung in front of stunning chandeliers of Marc Wilson Design. The screens provided the backdrop for Go West Events & Multimedia's videos introducing all nominees and winners. Guests perched on elegantly draped chairs, courtesy of Something Different Party Rental. Talented musical act Ethel, represented by International Creative Management, opened the show. Voiceover services were provided by Marty McGowan of Moss. A futuristic dance performance by Momix dancers on skis created the perfect mid-show entertainment, courtesy of Cami Spectrum LLC. The winners, who were selected by a panel of industry peers in early March at the judging day venue Maloney & Porcelli, all received a giant silver "Big B" award designed by Academy Engraving and presented to winners by models from T and L Events Inc. Meanwhile, Hall of Fame inductee Maureen Reidy's special "Shooting Star" award was created by MK Shannon Awards & Rewards. All the highlights of the event were captured by Brightroom.com. And BizBash can thank both Cvent and Alpine Creative Group for helping get such a great turnout - Cvent provided fantastic registration and Web site services, while Alpine Creative produced ethereal invitations that truly conveyed the magic of the night.Nokia Theatre Times Square was transformed into a lavish and mystical dreamscape to go with this year's theme, 'Dream Big." Event designer Marc Wilson created white flowers that spelled "Dream Big" as attendees entered the lobby. Fabric draped over bars, provided by Rose Brand, had gobos and images of the "Dream Big" theme, while Bentley Meeker Lighting & Staging Inc. projected images of clouds onto the walls. MME Entertainment provided white draped ottomans with dreaming models. Okamoto Studio's ice sculpture of the BizBash "B" completed the look. Guests mixed and mingled at a VIP cocktail reception before the show and listened to a harpist and flutist, courtesy of Elan Artists. Everyone enjoyed delicious hors d'oeuvres from Match Catering and Eventstyles, and exotic cocktails from Absolut Vodka, including the "Absolut Dream," the signature drink of the night, featuring Absolut's new pear-flavored vodka. Food and drink were served on trays designed by Match Catering, which featured glass cases that contained decorative elements but could easily provide a unique branding opportunity. Before the awards ceremony began, guests listened to tunes spun by DJ Eric Visa. All of these elements created what was truly a memorable evening.
