Need a way to infuse relaxation and rejuvenation into a corporate outing? Look to these Boston spas for group-ready spaces and treatment options.
1. Last month, G20 Spa and Salon moved to its new home, just a few blocks from its original locale on Newbury Street. The new space features energy-efficient, LEED-certified construction, with space for private group events and corporate retreats. G2O spans five floors and 14,000 square feet, including more than 20 treatment rooms, a penthouse lounge and terrace, nap pod, and six-person hot tub with overhead skylight. The entire space is available for buyout, with the whole spa menu—of facials, makeup lessons, massages, and blowouts—available to groups. The facility's newest features, the nap pod and brine inhalation therapy room, are relaxation zones. The nap pod features aromatherapy and soothing lighting and can be booked for 20-minute intervals. The brine inhalation therapy room has a marble waterfall at its center, and guests sit in chaise lounges to breathe air infused with German salts. All private parties include catering, which is provided by neighboring Newbury Street eateries such as Cafeteria and Kashmir.
2. Bliss Spa at W Boston, which opened in September, is the first New England outpost of the luxe-yet-laid-back spa chain that offers a non-stuffy approach to spa treatments. The 5,000-square-foot space includes six private treatment rooms and manicure and pedicure stations—dubbed the "Movie While You Mani" area—where as many as six guests can get their toes and tips done while watching a movie of their choice (The Devil Wears Prada is among the many options). The facility's his-and-hers lounges come stocked with a treat bar with hot tea, brownies from local Rosie’s Bakery, cheese, and olives. The entire second level of the bilevel space is available for buyout, as well.
