CORT Event Furnishings, a Berkshire Hathaway Company, demonstrated the latest trends in furniture and party rentals at a live showcase and dramatic "reveal" at a V.I.P. reception for event professionals in the New York area recently.
All of the designs were created for CORT by Richard Carbotti of Perfect Surroundings in Newport, Rhode Island. In a recent article from Exhibit City News, Carbotti said that he "sees warm colors playing a key role this year mixed with energetic and exciting tones." He also said that with the economy coming back, demand is strong for high-end furnishings, designer pieces, and a true mixture of different styles. He emphasized, "Design is not simply things themselves but how those things are using and arranged in a way that gets people to feel something."
CORT event organizers designed the event itself in a way that built excitement for a "reveal" by moving the event from the Hudson Square Ballroom to the SoHo Ballroom. Guests experienced a dozen different displays and groupings designed from CORT's new "Wild" patterned Lounge22 furnishings with faux alligator, python, white tiger, and snow leopard textiles paired with modern French white tables, chairs, and chaise lounges from the Napoleon collection. The designs created an eclectic and luxurious take on the classic safari.
