1. Artisan sausage restaurant and beer garden Brat Haus opened in downtown Scottsdale in July with an array of options for indoor and outdoor imbibing. Event spaces include 68 seats in the beer garden, 54 on the patio, 50 in the private garden, and 58 indoors. Capacity for a buyout is 300.

2. El Santo Cantina, a 25,000-square-foot pool, cantina, and patio bar, opened in Old Town Scottsdale in May. The venue includes an 8,000-square-foot bar serving margaritas and oversize cocktail bowls; a 3,000-square-foot Mexican restaurant; and a resort-style pool patio, where groups can rent private villas or cabanas.

3. Downtown Phoenix’s Evans Churchill neighborhood welcomed Angel’s Trumpet Ale House in September. It offers 31 craft brews from a white tile-backed bar and a casual menu of flatbread pizzas, sandwiches, and burgers. Rustic tables in the indoor and outdoor areas can seat as many as 20.

4. Offering arcade games, a dance floor, and a DJ booth, the flashy 15,000-square-foot Gypsy Bar opened in October next to Lucky Strike Lanes in Phoenix’s Cityscape complex. The main lounge includes a U-shaped white bar and a small dining area. Two V.I.P. sections overlooking the dance floor can be reserved for groups.
