LG Electronics Canada has announced a series of partnerships with Toronto's fashion industry as part of a new campaign dubbed the Fall Fashion Collection. "We love sophisticated style and spectacular design and always strive to be fashion forward in everything we do, so of course we're excited to deepen our relationship within an industry that perfectly reflects these values," LG's marketing vice president, Andrew Barrett, said during a press conference at the Fashion Television studios Friday.

LG kicked off the campaign with its sponsorship of Sunday's DSquared2 runway show at CTV's Queen Street headquarters. Toronto-born designers Dean and Dan Caten, now based in Milan, showcased their fall/winter collection on an outdoor runway in the television station's parking lot. The event will be broadcast on CTV next week.

LG also announced an executive-level sponsorship of L'Oréal Fashion Week, including plans to unveil a new line of cell phones in the tents at Nathan Phillips Square on October 22 and close the week with a massive fashion and music event called LG Fashion Fusion, featuring a concert by Maroon 5 on October 25. LG will hold an open casting call for models to participate in the show, and members of the public will have an opportunity to win tickets to the event through www.lg.ca/fashion.

The company is also partnering with Fashion Cares, the annual fund-raising gala for the AIDS Committee of Toronto, being held November 1. More details about that event will be announced in mid-September.
