THE SHUTDOWN COULD STILL MEAN TROUBLE FOR SUPER BOWL: While the government shutdown isn't expected to affect security at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta for the Super Bowl, the ongoing partial shutdown could still have a negative impact on the event—specifically at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The shutdown already caused canceled planning meetings for the February 3 game, and if it continues, T.S.A. agents and flight controllers will be working during the game without pay. NBC News: "Dan McCabe, a National Air Traffic Controllers Association representative, told NBC News that his colleagues had been holding meetings over the past year to prepare for the surge in travelers to the area. But now the planning meetings, which included officials from his union, the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Football League, have been grounded. ... The impact of the shutdown has already been on display at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. 2. 'GREEN BOOK' WINS TOP HONORS AT P.G.A. AWARDS: Controversial film Green Book, a comedy based on a true story about a white man and a black man bonding during a road trip through the Deep South in the 1960s, won the Producers Guild of America's top award on Saturday night. The win has established the film, panned by a number of critics, as an Oscar frontrunner. Los Angeles Times: "The win represented another high point in Green Book’s roller-coaster ride through awards season. The movie has taken top prizes at the Golden Globes and Toronto International Film Festival, but has also been dogged by controversy along the way, including the resurfacing of a controversial 2015 tweet from co-writer Nick Vallelonga that supported Donald Trump’s false claim that Muslims in New Jersey celebrated the destruction of the World Trade Center. 'When you make Dumb and Dumber, you don’t ever expect to get an award,' said producer Peter Farelly, who also directed and co-wrote the movie. 3. THE RAZZIE AWARDS NOMINATE DONALD TRUMP: President Donald Trump has been nominated for the Golden Raspberry Awards. The awards, which recognize the worst in film, nominated Trump for his appearances in Dinesh D'Souza's documentary Death of a Nation and Michael Moore's documentary Fahrenheit 11/9. Trump won a Razzie for worst supporting actor in 1991's Ghosts Can't Do It. The Hollywood Reporter: "The president is also up for worst screen combo for himself and 'his self-perpetuating pettiness' in Death of a Nation and Fahrenheit 11/9. First Lady Melania Trump is up for worst supporting actress in Fahrenheit 11/9. Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway is also nominated in that category for the same Moore film. ... The first Golden Raspberry Awards ceremony—created by John J. B. Wilson and Mo Murphy—was held March 31, 1981. This year's ceremony will be held February 23.
