For groups that want to explore Boston on a budget, Boston Duck Tours recently launched an abbreviated 55-minute evening tour that costs less than its typical 80-minute outing. The tour, which is on a Duck, the company's signature water- and land-friendly vehicle, departs from the New England Aquarium at 4 p.m. and hits most of the area's major sites, including Faneuil Hall, the Old State House, Wharf District parks, the Holocaust Memorial, TD Banknorth Garden, the U.S.S. Constitution, and Battery Wharf. The tour costs $25.95 per person, and there are discounts for groups of 20 or more. Duck charters are available for private tours; groups of as many as 36 people can reserve an entire vehicle for $855.

In honor of the company's 15th anniversary, Boston Duck Tours is offering 15 percent off all chartered vehicles from September 8 to December 18. The discount is available for any chartered vehicle booked on a non-holiday weekday.
