2. TWITTER IN 2012: AdWeek says Obama's Twitter Town Hall experiment is just the tip of the iceberg for the social media company's use in a political context, implying Twitter could host a presidential debate. Communications director Matt Graves: "2012 will be a major election cycle, not only in the U.S. but around the world. 3. RUSSIAN RUMORS: The Federation Fund, a Russian fund-raiser for a children's hospital, drew the likes of Isabella Rosellini, Jeremy Irons, and Woody Allen to an event this past weekend in Moscow. Negative speculation about the charity has being growing since last year's event, which didn't stop Kevin Costner from returning. The New Yorker: "Hearing about all this on a warm July evening overlooking the smoggy distances of Moscow, Chris Noth became visibly concerned."

4. BUSINESS TRAVEL SPENDING SLOWING: AP: "Business travelers are now expected to take 447.2 million trips this year, up 2.3 percent from last year, but down from a projected increase of 3.4 percent just three months ago, the Global Business Travel Association said Tuesday...The higher cost of travel is keeping spending on pace at $250.2 billion, up nearly 7 percent from last year, and the same outlook as three months ago. The group still expects travel spending to continue next year with a 5.8 percent increase. It's forecast to reach pre-recession levels by the middle of next year."

* INSPIRATION BREAK *
"'Painting Reality' is a public art project in which unsuspecting drivers unwittingly painted Berlin’s Rosenthaler Platz intersection a strobe-like composition of blue, yellow, purple and red. In an act of guerilla art, the artists IEPE & the anonymous crew poured vats of water-based environmentally-friendly paint at each corner of the intersection, while traffic was temporarily halted. As the lights turned green, some 2000 cars, including bicyclists, spread the 500-liters of paint in every direction." Here's a cool video on Architizer (via Gawker):
