The theater district's nightlife scene has a new addition: Cure Lounge opened earlier this month beneath the Wilbur Theater. The subterranean nightclub in the former Aria space includes two distinct areas: the main lounge and private back lounge. The club is available for private and semiprivate events for 20 to 382 guests.
The design, conceived by John Stefanon of Boston's JFS Design Studios, mixes old and new, with the building's original, fully restored ceilings from the 1800s, and a 15-foot projection screen behind the main bar. The main lounge underscores the building's theater roots with King Louis-style white chairs, zebra-print carpet, and chandeliers with white shades.
The V.I.P. lounge in the rear sits in the space that used to hold the orchestra pit and has an Asian-inspired look, with round, overhead lanterns and cherry blossom motifs. Each space has separate sound systems, allowing for simultaneous events.
