Strip House Is "a Steakhouse for Sissies"

New York Times restaurant critic William Grimes gave Strip House one star in his review, calling the bordello-like restaurant "a steakhouse for sissies." The restaurant's owners, Peter and Penny Glazer (Tapika, Monkey Bar and Michael Jordan's Steakhouse), have filled the former Asti's space on East 12th Street with red leather banquettes, red wallpaper and vintage photographs of strippers. Grimes' verdict: "Strip House is not so much a steakhouse as a catalog of hip references to the idea of a steakhouse."
