2. HEADLINER CANCELS AT ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL: The DJ Avicii dropped out of Miamiβs Ultra Music Festival this weekend because of health reasons. The DJ was the key to a promotion at SLS South Beach, which dubbed itself βAvicii Hotel at SLS.β Deadmau5 took over for him on the main stage. MTV: βThe Swedish DJ, born Tim Bergling, was rushed to a Miami Beach hospital on Thursday for abdominal pains, nausea and fever, and was later diagnosed with a blocked gall bladder. 3. ELECTRONIC MUSIC FESTIVALS ATTRACT MAJOR SPONSORS: SFX Entertainment told investors that it is drawing more corporate sponsorships to its electronic music festivals, which include Tomorrowland, Electric Zoo, Rock in Rio, and Sensation. The New York Times: βSince SFX was formed, sponsorships and media have been critical to its plan to make money from the wide but largely diffuse dance audience, which is spread around the world and might come together only for occasional events. SFXβs recent deals include a sponsorship with Anheuser-Busch InBev and a partnership with the radio giant Clear Channel Communications that includes a D.J. talent search and a syndicated weekly radio show under the brand of Beatport, an online music store and digital platform owned by SFX. In a statement, the company said that sponsorships had already contributed more than $40 million in earnings in the first three months of this year and that more such deals were coming.β
