First Food & Bar is located on the second floor of the Palazzo, in the Shoppes at the Palazzo. The venue, which had a grand opening last month, goes for a neighborhood bar and diner feel with high, open ceilings and tribal tattoo imagery in the floor. The furniture mixes modern, vintage, and Gothic styles in the 10,000-square-foot space.
First serves meals from breakfast to late night from executive chef Sam DeMarco. (DeMarco opened First in New York in the '90s.) Signature dishes include "First original" mini burgers (four all-beef patties, secret sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, and tomatoes on White Castle buns); "lollipop buffalo wings" (Maytag bleu fondue, pickled cucumbers); and lobster rolls (mini potato buns, Maine lobster, tarragon.)
Signature cocktails include a cucumber gimlet and the Cotton Candy Kiss (vodka, elderflower, vanilla, pineapple, and cranberry juice, with a crushed Life Saver rim).
The restaurant holds 200 guests, and the bar and lounge holds 70.
