Blige Performs at Governor's Conference

Soulful singer Mary J. Blige is really making the special event rounds these days. (In New York, she turned up at Cipriani Wall Street for a Lower Manhattan redevelopment benefit, and at Lincoln Center for the Glamour Women of the Year awards.) She performed for 11,000 at the Long Beach Convention Center for a conference on women and families hosted by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and first lady Maria Shriver, held October 31. Sandra Day O’Connor, Barbara Walters, Tom Brokaw, and Billie Jean King were among the speakers. Kinetic Lighting used Finelite projectors to prominently display logos of the event’s sponsors at the ABC-televised event.
