Composer Andrew Lloyd Webber took catering concerns into his own hands for the opening night party for his new musical, By Jeeves. Instead of going with the traditional menu at Times Square stalwart Sardi's, Lloyd Webber and his publicist, Peter Brown, developed an alternative. Brown told The New York Times, "When we were planning this, I said, 'We might as well go to Sardi's for the party cause it's next door [to the theater], but we don't particularly like the food at Sardi's.'" His solution: Giving the restaurant his family's recipe for shepherd's pie. Zagat Survey publisher Tim Zagat told Brown it rated a 30.
