More Details On Olympics Construction

New details are coming out about New York's plans for the next big push to host the Olympics in 2012. According to Crain's New York, "the first task will be to begin raising an estimated $20 million to fund the next step in the bid effort. NYC2012 raised $13 million over the last four years, mostly from corporate sponsors."

For now, most construction will be held off until 2005, when the host city is selected by the International Olympic Committee. But the extension of the 7 subway line is "a more complex project" that is tied to the revitalization of the far West Side, and will have to start sooner.
