This Week: Glamour Awards and the Marathon

Tonight Glamour’s Women of the Year awards come to Avery Fisher Hall, with Overland Entertainment producing. Also tonight, a party to celebrate the release of the buzzed-about Michelin Guide to New York City fills the Guggenheim with foodies. And at the Seventh Regiment Armory, the Museum of Modern Art benefits from the preview of the International Fine Print Dealers Association’s Print Fair, which opens Thursday and continues through Sunday.

Thursday, Sting performs for the Soil Association at the La Dolce Vita event at the Metropolitan Pavilion and the Altman Building. Also Thursday night, Time magazine's Global Health Summit draws to a close with the Black Ball fund-raiser at Jazz at Lincoln Center, hosted by Alicia Keys. At Splashlight Studios that night, Donna Karan hosts nonprofit Rx Art’s fund-raiser. And in the East Village, frequent host Surface magazine holds a party the night before Bombay Sapphire’s temporary store opens up at Bathhouse Studio, with Okamoto Studio making ice sculptures. On Friday the Dia Art Foundation’s big gala heads off-site for the first time to Skylight, where fashion house Missoni is designing a black and white look.

Saturday, on the eve of the ING New York City Marathon, Barilla pasta’s marathon dinner comes to Tavern on the Green. (The ING New York City Expo—which starts Thursday—closes on Saturday at the Javits Center.) Also Saturday, the Show Piers on the Hudson are filled with antiques for the Triple Pier Antiques Show, on display through Sunday and again next weekend.

On Monday, New York magazine’s Taste of New York fills the Puck Building with tastings from restaurants like Alain Ducasse, Café Boulud, and Bar Americain. Tuesday is Election Day, so get out and vote. Also that day, the Human Rights Watch hosts a dinner at the American Museum of Natural History, with floral design by Fleurs Bella. Also, the Accessories Council honors Kenneth Cole at its Ace awards at Cipriani 42nd Street, and the Museum of Arts & Design holds its annual Visionaries gala at Pier Sixty.
