“New York is a mixed bag for meeting attendees and conventioneers.” So sums up Crain’s New York Business in its meetings and conventions report, in which it grades the city on its offerings for the industry. Crain’s gave the Javits Center a C for its small size, confusing layout, and inaccessibility on the far West Side. Hotels got a B+ for the many great properties with top-tier amenities, balanced by their high cost and short supply. Transportation got a C- (lots of low-priced options, but too much traffic), restaurants got a B- (great variety, tough to secure reservations), and entertainment got an A- (great show options, limited seat availability).
