Appropriate for Valentine's Day, French cosmetics line Bourjois Paris hosted another charmingly girlish, gimmicky launch. To announce its new products debuting in the spring, Bourjois PR director Celine Kaplan planned a series of events for beauty editors (by appointment) at Times Square's Hotel QT. The pool in the hotel's bar area and the seashells placed in a neat row around its edge created a warm-weather vibe—even as snow from the blizzard still littered the streets outside. Bourjois staff clad in orchid leis (strings of orchids also hung from the ceiling and single flowers decked the surfaces) gave demonstrations of the new products—including mini lip gloss tubes on strings dangling from hot pink Motorola Razr cell phones—which dotted the tiered event space around the pool and in the red-tiled sauna (which was turned off, of course). Tentation Potel & Chabot passed light snacks like shrimp skewers and spicy corn pancakes.
