New York state officials approved the $1.7 billion expansion of the Javits Center last week, according to The New York Times. The 1.3 million-square-foot addition includes a new hotel, parkland, and a glass-enclosed concourse area. The project still requires approval from the Javits Operating Corporation and a second state board before it can break ground this summer.
