New York Gets Lacrosse Team

New York now has a professional lacrosse franchise, Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced Monday. The team will play its first games next year, and will host at least four at Madison Square Garden. The yet-unnamed team is holding a contest for fans to suggest and vote on a team name. With the addition of a New York squad, the National Lacrosse League expands to 13 teams total in the United States and Canada. A person in charge of sponsorships is still to be determined.
