Roller coaster enthusiasts welcomed the April launch of Expedition Everest at Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom, but planners can also use the attraction as a backdrop to a sit-down dinner or cocktail reception. Events can be set up at the recreated village of Anandapur, located at the base of the roller coaster. As many as 800 guests can be accommodated for a buffet-style event or 1,000 people for a stand-up reception. Stiltwalking Yetis and other outrageous characters, such as Professor A. Bominable and his assistant Kat Mandu, can join the event and mingle with guests. For an additional fee, Expedition Everest can be reserved especially for group, so guests can enjoy unlimited rides during events. All events must be held after Animal Kingdom closes to the public.
