Why did you choose Destin for your travel-incentive program?
Last year was the third year we rewarded our staff with a four-day trip. Previous years, we traveled to New York City and the Caribbean. However, this year's trip to Destin attracted the highest attendance. We invited 65 of our employees, business partners, and their spouses from Louisiana. Destin fit the bill because it has a resort feel that's still within driving distance.
What was your favorite venue or property?
There are a lot of great properties in Destin. We chose the Pelican Beach Resort and Conference Center. Having catering and meeting facilities on-site, it was easy for our group to navigate. It also fit our budget.What kind of activities did your group participate in?
We took advantage of the beautiful beach backdrop and did a lot of teambuilding exercises on the beach. We had a company volleyball tournament and a sand-castle-building contest. Both fostered creativity and some friendly competition.
How does Destin stand for a future destination?
Once we returned, we surveyed our group, and they gave Destin very high ratings—for the food, activities, lodging, and overall appeal. We plan to include a getaway to Destin as a semiannual company perk!
