Absolut Vodka debuted its newest product line during a private reception followed by the main event Monday night at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa. The invite-only lobby bar reception featured Absolut 100 specialty drinks, passed hors d'oeuvres, and a DJ spinning '80s tunes.
At 11 p.m., the party moved into Floyd's nightclub. A backlit, round glass mirror emblazoned with an etched-look appliqué of the Absolut 100 logo greeted guests as they entered the venue. Inside, the new vodka's tag line—"Extravagance has a dark side"—provided the theme for the evening. Incorporating the bottle's black and silver color scheme, girls dressed in bikini tops and boy shorts, sporting body paintings of the logo, served guests, while a model in a silver bikini floated and posed inside an oversize, handblown martini glass. The DJ, in-house light show, and fog machines created a dark, edgy vibe, as go-go dancers entertained on the main stage and other platforms throughout the room. A ribbon aerialist also performed various sets throughout the evening.Cocktail tables covered with black and silver linens featured centerpieces of black-tinged rosebuds held in rectangular clear glass dishes created by Grand Events of Florida LLC. Illuminated by black glass tea light candleholders, the centerpieces also spotlighted the evening's complimentary Absolut 100 specialty drink menu. Oversize martini glasses filled with translucent opalescent stones and tea lights were set along the venue's front and back bars, while silver urns filled with black and silver feathers flagged the entrances to the V.I.P. lounge and booths. On the house video screens, the estimated 1,300 attendees enjoyed a new video from rap star 50 Cent with special guest Justin Timberlake featuring product placement of the new vodka.
