Seafood chain Mitchell’s Fish Market opened its first Orlando location in the former Beluga Restaurant space in Winter Park Village on June 14. The 7,700-square-foot restaurant consists of a main dining room, bar area, indoor private room, and expansive patio—part of which can be sectioned off for private events.
The main dining room can seat 115 in four-tops, six-person booths, and large black banquettes. The nearby bar can also seat 87.
For private events, the 212-square-foot Captain’s Quarters private dining room can seat 48 or host as many as 100 for a reception. The room is equipped with a 54-inch flat-screen high-definition TV with DirecTV and videoconferencing capabilities. The room also has wireless Internet and dedicated controls for lighting, air-conditioning, and music.
For outdoor parties, a 3,000-square-foot covered patio wraps around the exterior of the restaurant and can seat 80. A 440-square-foot section of the patio has direct access to the Captain's Quarters and can be roped off from the rest of the space and used as a prefunction area along with the private room.
The decor throughout the restaurant incorporates dark wood and nautical accents such as maps, decorative fish, and portholes. The menu consists of eight to 12 different types of fresh seafood, depending on availability, and four types of oysters. Beef, poultry, and pork dishes are also available.
This is the 20th location for Mitchell’s Fish Market, and the fourth in Florida. In 2008, the company became part of Ruth’s Hospitality Group.
