Cirque du Soleil

Cirque du Soleil's "La Nouba" performs two shows each night Tuesdays through Saturdays in a permanent theater at Downtown Disney. The venue has seating for 1,671 and special rates are available for groups of 12 or more people.

1. 'Blue Man Group'

Universal Orlando has revamped the Blue Man Group show with new staging, technology, music, and entertainment. One new segment pokes fun at society’s fascination with electronic communication as the Blue Men interact with “GiPads,” gigantic, iPad-like devices. The Blue Man Group show performs one or two shows nightly at the Sharp Aquos Theatre at Universal CityWalk.

2. CSI: The Experience

CSI: The Experience opens this month in a new exhibit and event space on International Drive. The interactive exhibit based on the popular television series places guests in the role of crime scene investigators as they solve one of three mysteries. It is housed in a 22,000-square-foot facility operated by EMS Exhibits that will be opened as a private event space in the future.

3. Titanic: The Experience

In time for the 100th anniversary of the Titanic's sinking, Premier Exhibitions has added 100 authentic artifacts to its attraction on International Drive. Among the pieces on display at Titanic: The Experience is a two-ton section of the ship's hull, the second-largest piece ever recovered. Actors in period costumes give guests an hour-long tour of the 20,000-square-foot interactive museum. Group rates are available.

4. Hard Rock Live

Hard Rock Live at Universal CityWalk hosts a variety of entertainment throughout the year. In the next month, Daughtry, comedian Kevin James, The Fray, and Ziggy Marley are scheduled to perform. Most shows begin at 8 p.m.

6. Charles Hosmer Morse Museum

The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum has the most comprehensive collection of Louis Comfort Tiffany materials in the world. In January the museum added a 12,000-square-foot wing that includes 250 art and architectural objects from Tiffany’s Long Island Home, Laurelton Hall. Highlights include leaded-glass windows, iconic Tiffany Studios lamps, art glass, and custom furnishings. Groups of 10 or more can book docent-led tours for a discounted admission of $4 a person.

7. World Bowling Center

World Bowling Center, just off International Drive, can accommodate groups of up to 300 people. The facility has 32 lanes and a 2,500-square-foot room upstairs for meetings or parties. The facility serves light fare and has a full-liquor bar and arcade.

8. Orlando Grand Prix

Orlando Grand Prix's 70,000-square-foot, air-conditioned facility in south Orlando can accommodate up to 100 people. Guests drive Italian electric pro-karts that reach speeds of 50 m.p.h. on either the quarter-mile Grand Prix track or the super-slick Monster Energy Drift Track. The venue has three private rooms for groups that want to add a meeting or party to the experience.

9. Señor Frog’s

Señor Frog’s on International Drive has seating for 385 and can accommodate 800 for a reception. Two raised platforms on either side of the venue can be roped off for groups. The restaurant serves mostly Mexican fare and an extensive selection of cocktails. A house band performs nightly, and there is also a DJ and roving M.C. to lead guests in line dances, sing-alongs, and contests.

10. Improv Comedy Club and Dinner Theatre

Local and national comedians perform at Improv Comedy Club and Dinner Theatre, located at Pointe Orlando. The theater has seating for 325 at four-top tables. There is also a 500-square-foot room for private events located just off the lobby.
