The Baltimore-Washington area got its second hotel in six months with a new Westin, which opened on November 5. The 260-room hotel, in Linthicum, Maryland, is two miles from the BWI airport and offers shuttle service back and forth.
The hotel features 7,300 square feet of divisible ballroom space as well as prefunction space that can hold as many as 400. Also on-site: an 800-square-foot glass-enclosed boardroom equipped with teleconferencing abilities and wireless Internet. The 73,000-square-foot hotel also has a 24-hour fitness center and Luminous, a Pan-Asian cuisine restaurant with a private room for 18.
The hotel is the result of a partnership between Starwood Hotels and the Virginia-based LTD Management. This is the fourth project in the area for the pair (who also collaborated on the new Sheraton, which opened in May).
