Former CTV Event Producer Helms \'So You Think You Can Dance Canada\' Wrap Party

Carla Warrilow
September 21, 2011

For her first solo project with her new company, Mafalda Productions Inc., Mafalda Caruso (formerly CTV's executive director of special events) created a colourful, neon-lit wrap party for So You Think You Can Dance Canada. The celebration for 500 cast and crew members began after the season finale was filmed at Showline Studios on September 11.

The venue was bright and colourful, thanks to LED tube lights from Westbury National Show Systems, which illuminated the bar, the DJ booth, and the dance floor. Eschewing the black and white furniture trend, Caruso opted for pink and purple benches and lounges. “It’s a celebration. I want it to be high-energy,” Caruso said, noting that the show’s finale was sure to be emotional—only one out of the six finalists would win, after all.

Caruso took cues from So You Think You Can Dance Canada for decor elements. Guests sipped on dance-inspired cocktails like the Mango Tango Margarita and the Apple Jazz Martini. Images of the top 10 finalists hung on the wall and pillows that lined the lounges had images of the top 22 dancers. And plenty of room was, of course, left for the pink dance floor in the centre of the space.
