This Week: Music and Fancy Food

This week stays slow after the long July 4 weekend. On Friday, the Music Festival of the Hamptons opens in Bridgehampton, and continues through July 24. Saturday is the Parrish Art Museum’s midsummer gala in Southampton. On Sunday, the Ford New York City Triathlon takes place in Riverside Park and Central Park, and the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade kicks off the Fancy Food Show at the Javits Center. The expo continues through Tuesday. On Monday, another food show—Food Fete—takes over Splashlight Studios. And Tuesday, the Lincoln Center Festival begins, with dance, theater, music, and opera performances that run through July 31.

Fairmont Chicago was draped in shades of green via live plants and colored furnishings for the 2017 Pantone Color of the Year event, where Kehoe Designs helmed the event's design. Running with a greenery theme—Pantone's then-color of the year—the event design team incorporated appropriately colored products from the client's product line, such as green mop heads, which were used to form the oversized, makeshift weeping willow trees. Working with sister company Floral Exhibits, the team aimed to make it appear as if living plants were growing right out of the tables themselves.
