Ron Howard will be honored by the American Museum of the Moving Image at its annual black-tie Salute Sunday at the Waldorf-Astoria. In anticipation of its December 14 public opening, Universal Pictures premieres King Kong on Monday with screenings at two 42nd Street theaters; a private party will be held at the Show Piers on the Hudson.
