Golden murals and multicolored lanterns add to the exotic air of the new French-Moroccan restaurant Azza (in the former space of Fizz on 55th Street). In the main dining room, which seats 46, there are also elegant fabric-draped walls and gilded columns, as well as Arabic-style arch windows that separate the space from the main entryway. Downstairs there’s an expansive lounge area ringed with semiprivate alcoves and three bars, plus a gaming room with an old-style club feel that has a billiards table and a poker table. The lounge may be used for seated dinners for as many as 70, and the entire venue holds 300. The menu highlights meze and includes traditional tagines, couscous, and entrées like rack of lamb with vegetable chutney, duck with quince and blood orange, and Moroccan spice-rub sirloin. —Mark Mavrigian
