The Children Affected by AIDS Foundation held its 15th annual Dream Halloween Los Angeles fund-raiser on Saturday at the Barker Hangar in the Santa Monica airport, generating nearly $1 million for the charity. The foundation's special events director, Roberta Maslanka, organizes Dream Halloween in L.A. and New York, and Mattel and Toys R Us Inc. are the event's founding and presenting sponsors.

Families with kids in costume trick-or-treated for toys, played games and made crafts, and snacked on food from the likes of Citrus at Social, Drago Ristorante, Global Cuisine by Gary Arabia, and Sashi Sushi & Sake Lounge. Jamie Lee Curtis hosted, and Jada Pinkett Smith, Wilmer Valderrama, Jason Priestley, Angela Bassett, and Kim Fields were among the celebrity guests amid the all-ages crowd. A live auction raised more than $80,000 for children affected by HIV and AIDS, with dolls in the likenesses of Pinkett Smith and daughter Willow Smith fetching $20,000, and a one-of-a-kind Hot Wheels made with Valderrama bringing in $6,500.
