AUSTIN: Qui, a restaurant from Top Chef and James Beard award winner Paul Qui, is set to open June 20. Local architects Eric Barth and Ryan Burke of A Parallel Architecture designed the space, which has a 50-seat main dining room and a 10-seat tasting room.
BOSTON: Looking for a classic New England activity? On July 6, City Hall Plaza will host Chowderfest, where local restaurants will dole out some 2,000 gallons of New England clam chowder.
CHICAGO: The Andersonville Midsommarfest, a celebration of the area's Swedish heritage, is Friday to Sunday and will feature live music, dancing, food, shopping, and children's entertainment.
LAS VEGAS: The Tropicana Las Vegas is expanding its meeting and convention facilities to include more than 100,000 square feet of space. The new convention space will accommodate as many as 3,000 guests and will feature 19 breakout rooms and more than 55,000 square feet for large exhibits.
TV host and chef Guy Fieri plans to open his first Las Vegas restaurant in late 2013 at the entrance of the Quad Resort & Casino. The 7,000-square-foot restaurant, currently unnamed, will be a new concept from Fieri developed as part of the Linq, Caesars Entertainment’s $500 million dining, retail, and entertainment development next to the Quad.
