Stormtrooper Greeters

Held in 2014 at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Los Angeles Philharmonic's annual benefit was dubbed “A Celebration of John Williams: Opening Night Gala Concert.” As a tribute to the film composer, who scored Star Wars, stormtrooper and Darth Vader characters greeted guests at the post-concert dinner.

Fittingly, a plane even flew over the soiree with Hermès ribbon attached to its tail.

The stylish party was held outdoors at the Four Seasons Beverly Hills, and immediately drew attention with oversize balloon installations from Balloon Celebrations.

At the entrance to the event, a greeter set the tone by wearing a dress made from balloons, as well as rubber-duck slippers and a shower cap.

One of the more glamorous details of the event was a vintage bathtub-turned-flower installation. White and clear balloons spilled out of it, designed to look like bubbles flying everywhere.

Next to the bathtub was an eye-catching blue cake, which was topped with more bubbles, rubber ducks, and the words "splish splash." On the top was a rubber duck taking a bath.

Throughout the party, ducks were used as bud vases.

Every element of the party—including large floral centerpieces from Celio's Design—tied into the event's summery color scheme of yellow, white, and blue.

Other oversize props tied into the kid-friendly theme as well as the color scheme.

For the parents, even the cocktails were on-theme.

"The dessert table is always very important to us," explained event producer Clarissa Rezende. The oversize station tied into the theme with yellow flowers and candy and duck-shaped desserts.

One cute dessert at the station was designed to resemble rubber ducks taking a bath.

At another dessert table, rain boots and the book "Splish Splash Baby" served as on-theme props.

The young attendees could create oversize bubbles at one station; other activities included a duck-painting station.

For party favors, each child received a gift basket made from a small bathtub. Inside was a rubber duck bath kit. Adults received rubber duck tea cups and tea infusers.

Each child also received a duck-shaped backpack, which doubled as decor throughout the party.
