Opening this month for events, Project Miami is a renovated house designed by Casa Décor organizer and president Javier Sanjuanbenito, who has extensive experience turning derelict buildings into event spaces.
Originally built in the 1920s, the two-story house is positioned between the art and design districts in downtown Miami and has indoor and outdoor event space and plenty of parking.
The 8,500 square feet of indoor space is split between two conjoining Mediterranean-style houses. The spaces are comprised of 14 individual rooms ranging in size from 154 to 1,088 square feet.
The property is anchored by 22,000 square feet of gardens. Lushly landscaped, the outdoor space boasts a wooden deck with a covered bar and several semiprivate alcoves for about six people in each.
Additionally, there is a fountain in the garden’s center, which is flanked by a cement walkway on each of its four sides. The space provides an organic setting for fashion shows and performances.
The property can accommodate groups of 50 to as many as 2,500 people and has two parking lots adjacent to the house. Barton G. is the venue’s preferred caterer.
