On Saturday, June 30, BET C.E.O. Debra L. Lee hosted the annual pre-show dinner at Union Station, drawing a crowd of industry pioneers, music moguls, and performers to celebrate the entertainment network's awards, which took place on Sunday. For the sixth consecutive year, André Wells was tapped to design the event, this year looking to play up the grand venue's elegance.
Marked by a color palette of orange hues and subtle nudes for balance, the space was decked out with an eclectic array of furnishings. For added drama, organizers created 14-foot flower-shaped sculptures, which were made of tangerine-colored peonies and dahlias, to hang from the ceiling. Other nods to the colorful soiree included leafless trees that were spray-painted with orange glitter and embellished with glass bubble ornaments, and a metallic high-lacquer dance floor to match the decor.
