Inside NBC's Anniversary Lovefest

There was more to NBC's big 75th anniversary bash than all the self-congratulatory antics on the three-hour live broadcast. The network also threw a party at its Rockefeller Center home. Pictures were forbidden, but here are a few details: Botanica Inc. supplied flowers that echoed the colors in NBC's iconic peacock. Bars and buffets featured fan-like displays of monstera leaves with individual vases each containing one of the six rainbow peacock colors. For the food, Restaurant Associates served passed hors d'oeuvres and a simple buffet, and Sylvia Weinstock made the anniversary cake. The fireworks that capped the broadcast were set off from the top of the Rockefeller Center by Fireworks by Grucci, and Eclectic/Encore Props provided the network with furniture, ornamental urns and an antique television camera.
