Last week, The Washington Post's Tom Sietsema reviewed the brunch served in the Key Bridge Marriott's new Capital View Ballroom (which we told you about on May 24). With offerings ranging from chocolate-dipped strawberries to made-to-order omelets and sushi, Sietsema said, "the menu shows more imagination than it probably needs to," though the "lovely bird's-eye view of Georgetown and the Potomac River" make the $48 all-you-can-eat feast worthwhile.
Also newsworthy are some logistical changes for Penn Quarter stalwart Indebleu that are slated to go into effect by July 13. Open since 2005, the venue has a new vice president of restaurant operations, Paul Pruitt, who told Sietsema he's lowering prices, increasing portion sizes, and rewriting the bulk of the menu in an effort to "win over as many people as possible." (Menu favorites from opening chef Vikram Garg—tandoori rack of lamb, seven-spice tenderloin, duck meatballs—will remain.) Sietsema writes that the French/Indian resto may have tried to be too many things at once, with some viewing the venue as a trendy eatery while others saw it as a nightclub (including People, which hosted its pre-Correspondents Dinner party there). Other tweaks in the works: a glass wall between the lobby and the bar, a tablecloth-free dining room, and some new artwork.
